2 Week Check Up!

Image
Caleb had his 2 week check up this morning. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 21 inches long. We were thankful that his jaundice level came down and that all seems to be going great for our little guy. Caleb has transitioned quite well in our home. He has created a nice all night schedule for us. So far we are routinely up at 2:00Am, 6:00Am, and then again at 9:00AM. It hasn't been all that bad for us. It is nice that he falls asleep after his 6:00 feeding so that I can get a shower in quick, feed Andrew and Micah breakfast and get them dressed and then Caleb wakes for breakfast and his bath. As you all know, the teacher in me strives for routine and schedule. So, I am doing well with Mr. Caleb. He took his first bottle this week! I am hoping for a few girl get a ways and thankful he is able to take a bottle so early! I figure one bottle feeding a day won't hurt him! And it gives me a little break. Kyle is enjoying this snuggle time as well! The other two boys are doing we...

The go to move!

As parents we all have the one move that will always help calm our baby's down when they are upset and crying. Mine never works as well as Anna's. Andrew and Micah have also gotten into the act of caring for their brother Caleb. Whenever Andrew and Micah hear Caleb start to cry they begin to sing the ABC's. It worked earlier today while we were in the car and so they continue to try whenever he cries! Just after dinner while Andrew was holding Caleb I heard him crying and Andrew repeatly signing the ABC's for him trying his hardest to help him out! What great boys we have. Although the day was a little bit rough for behavior and listening they sure are sweet with their little bro!

Caleb comes home!

What a great day we had today. Anna and I woke up in the hospital to great news that everything had come together just right to make today the day to take Caleb home. After 4 full days of recovery for both Anna and Caleb the Doctors all agreed that they were both ready to hit the road and go home. All of the nurses came in to say good bye and tell us one more time just how cute they all thought Caleb was, i think that they have to say that or taht they get paid bonuses for how many times they can say just how cute each baby is, but they sure seemed to want him to stay. After heading out from the hospital Anna and i made a stop at Target to pick up supplies and stopped out for lunch and then made the 100 mile trip home. Thankfully Caleb slept the whole way home with out even a single cry, he scared us a few times that he was not even there. We made it home and celebrated with cake and ice creme with Andrew, Micah, and Grandma and Grandpa Stegeman. What a great day!

Caleb James Gunderson!

Caleb James made his grand entrance into the world this morning at 8:12am.  He was born by C-section in Virginia, MN and was 7 Pounds 5 Ounces and 20 Inches long.  Anna and Caleb are now both doing great and sleeping and eating well.  Today was a pretty good day for both.  Anna has been very tired and Caleb has been working hard to get his breathing normal and under control.  He is a wonderful addition to our family.  Anna and I just love him so much already.  Andrew and Micah however might take a few days to get used to the idea of having a new little brother around.  Andrew seemed a little wired about the whole process and did not like to hear him cry as he thought that Caleb was hurting and wanted to make sure that Caleb did not have to hurt.  Micah just thought it was all a little adventure and was the first to tickle Caleb's toes, and bring a  smile to his face.  By the time they left both boys wanted to give lots of hugs and kisses to our new little guy before the headed home...

Tiny Twins!

This week Andrew started pre-t-ball with other 3-4 year olds and had a blast! In our town t-ball begins at age 5 but many parents in town thought it would be fun to get our kids together to begin hitting the ball and playing together. So, on Monday night we showed up and Andrew got his red tee shirt and had his first practice! I have to brag and say that Andrew might be really great at baseball. He made great contact with the ball and played the field at least decently! We are super proud of our little t-ball player! It looks like there will be around 20 Tiny Twin players. So there are at least enough to make two teams! It should be a blast watching Drew this summer. Andrew loves talking about t-ball so give us a call anytime and hear all the great things Andrew has to say about his favorite sport! Take a peak at a few t-ball action shots!
