Thanksgiving Weekend

Image
We had a great Thanksgiving weekend with our family! The weather was unbelievable so we were able to play football, play outside and walk down to the lake and park. It was so nice to have the whole day to be together.  A yearly tradition for our family is to do a craft in the afternoon while football is on.... and eat pie! Aunt Kara makes the best pumpkin pie!!!  The next day we took grandma and grandpa with us to find our Christmas tree and when we got there we ran right into Mr. and Mrs. Clause!! The boys seemed a little surprise to see them walking around, so we decided we needed a picture!  Grandpa and the boys on our hayride out to get our tree!  We found it!! Had to get a family shot of all of us together!  It was really cold getting our tree so we hurried inside to color and have hot cocoa! We love taking grandma in this store because there is lots of fun Christmas stuff to look at!  Grandma and her boys:)  On Saturday we took off to the Children's Mu

Jacob is a BIG boy!

Our busy moving, loud talking, full of energy and spunk Jacob Kyle Gunderson has officially turned 1 years old on October 12th. Now that all his birthday celebrations are complete I am forced to sit down and write a blog about what it feels like to be a mommy with no more little ones under 1!!! Let me tell you this is no easy task!!! I love babies and could have seriously kept having children for the sake of loving those first 12 months of life. As we all know, that isn't practical nor healthy for a family or marriage. I suppose I could have held the, "But I need a girl" phrase for Kyle, family members, and close friends, but when I sit in the mornings with my bible open, God whispers "I have called you to be a mom of 4 boys." Day by day I am learning this is a very special calling God has given to me....  While I was pregnant with Jacob I had a time where I questioned whether God really had the best plan in mind in giving me a fourth boy...I spent lots of t

Apple Orchard Field Trip

I love going on a field trip each year with the boys and I was so excited when I was able to go on Micah's first field trip in Kindergarten to the Apple Orchard! Micah and I packed a special lunch together and headed out in the rain on the filed trip. Little boys are so funny because he never mentioned once that it was cold or rainy.... we just held hands the entire time!  A few of Micah's Kindergarten buddies Ainsley and Riley. Micah's Kindergarten class!!! What great kids they were today and so fun to get to meet Micah's classmates this year! We love Mrs. Fedderson, Micah's teacher too. What a fabulous start to the school year. Thanks Micah for inviting me to experience a fun morning with you!!!

An Ordinary Day

Image
Caleb loves playing outside in the leaves! He likes when we make huge piles to jump and roll around in. Our many trees in our yard make for lots of fun during this time of year!  Jake still loves his red car and enjoys his daily loop each day with mommy.  Just hanging out at home is our very favorite thing to do.... Jake loves playing catch, and discovering sticks and leaves to touch and taste.  Micah comes along most days on our daily walk by scooter making laps around mom... Andrew continues to love Legos and playing football in the yard with his brothers or neighbors. Our days look much the same as we focus our time and energy doing life at home. But the ordinary days are the moments when our boys grow in love for each other and see the importance of our time together as a family. Thankful for the ordinary...
