Diving Boards and Water Slides

Image
We have now entered into a whole new world of swimming at the water park just in the last week! Yes, we have 2 boys who can jump off the diving board and go down the water slide ALL BY THEMSELVES!!! Now it is almost impossible to take them to the water park and tell them to stay in the "little kid" area and be entertained with squirting water for 2 hours! This is what the warm weather has done to our family! We have had so many days swimming that now we are way confident and ready for new adventures!  As you can tell this makes me nervous and a bit sad to see my boys growing up before my very eyes. They definitely have their daddies outgoing personality! Watch out for the Gunderson's at the pool! We take swimming to a whole new level!

Camping at Devils Lake State Park

Just got home from our first official camping trip to Devils Lake State Park in Wisconsin. It was a true success as we all had a great time   camping and hiking together. The weather was great for cooking over the fire in the evening and swimming at the beach in the afternoon. Kyle  and I were a little unsure how our littlest camper Caleb would hold up but he was fabulous!    Andrew, being our typical first born and leader of the pack, got out our map in the mornings to tell us what hike we would be doing and got the backpack filled with snacks and water bottles. It was so fun for Kyle and I to watch how excited he was to be camping and seeing him take charge. Micah took on the "whatever" attitude and followed along with Andrew and the plan. However Micah loved being the hiking leader and made sure mommy was feeling ok and reminded us that we needed to take a break soon.  Caleb being the 2 year old that he is and the baby of the group lived in the moment and hopped most

Gone Fishin' with Grandpa!

Our highlight for the month of June was our family trip to Web Lake. The boys love fishing with grandpa and spending time with him in the boat. It was fun to watch Andrew and Micah really take more interest this year. Andrew caught lots of bass and sunfish. It was fun watching him learn how to take his own fish off the hook! I think he can be called a true fisherman now! Micah caught lots of sunfish and enjoyed the morning he got to fish alone with grandma and grandpa. He loves when the fish are active and biting otherwise he is ready to go into town for ice cream. My kind of fisherman! Caleb enjoyed being in grandpas boat and playing with all grandpas tools. We loved watching his eyes when the fish came out of the water. He got so excited to help pull the fish into the boat and bring them to grandpa! Caleb and I caught 18 fish together one morning and he never grew tired! What a trooper!
