Time with Caleb.

Image
We planned it. Picked him up on my bike at school at noonish and we took off! Subway first on the plan and the weather was gorgeous for our special day! I love time with Caleb. He is so joyful, simple spirited, happy and fun to chat about EVERYTHING with! We soaked in our time. Biking got warm so we stopped for a drink and I thought it was a great moment to grab this pic of my sweet 9 year old. Came home and baked Easter cookies. The house was quiet and the only noise that filled the air was our voices chatting and laughing. I think he really enjoyed the space to bake cookies on his own with mom.  Caleb is our master sprinkler! He had fun decorating all the bunnies with lots of different sprinkle colors! Sorry. One of our favorite games to play together.  He won a game. I won a game. Time with Caleb. A perfect afternoon.

Spring is in the air and with that brings busy days and fun memories with the boys school activities and sports that begin to transition to outside playing! first up this spring for us was Jacob's  spring folktale play with his first grade class! Jake was the narrator of this first play called, The Enormous Turnip. He was also the old man. The plays was so cute and very well done! I love Jake's face as he is pulling the turnip up! He is so blessed with a great group of friends and class. We thought they did great. Jake felt super special all the brothers were there watching. One of my absolute favorite  hobbies is reading books. But even more special to me is reading books with my boys!! This time round Caleb and I read a really good book called, The Rescue.  We cruised through this one talking so much about what we liked/disliked, our favorite characters, and anticipating how the book would end! I sure hope we can read another book together again soon! L

Awesome weekend with Micah. Drew and I had so much fun heading out for a full weekend of basketball for Micah's 6th grade basketball team. It was a great way to finish up the season. The boys worked really hard in tough competition and came home with a win and many smiles.... and sore legs.  Our drive out was in pouring rain and our drive home. Thankful we checked out a few movies for these big guys to chill in the back seat and watch together.  Great memories. I love how much these boys enjoy supporting one another in basketball.   The weekend started off with Micah making some great shots and the team playing strong defense.  The hotel was lots of fun and packed with special memories of eating pizza, watching basketball and running around the hotel playing games as a team. In the morning when I came back from my run I saw these two boys sharing a bowl of "fruit loops" together and had to grab a pic. AJ is such a great friend to Micah and I am so thankfu
