Gunderson Adventures.... where all 6 of Us live life to the fullest!

Here is day 1 of getting the cast on!! It was a sad moment in the doctors office hearing the hard truth of what life will look like in a cast- 5weeks until our next appt, no contact sports for 12 weeks...no football. And that’s when the tears were flowing for both Micah and I. We are sad this happened, bummed out that his 6th grade year in the first fall of middle school will be in a cast. However, in it all Micah has been staying pretty positive and trying to keep smiling. We both have moments though that we will make eye contact with one another and him or I will bust into tears....it’s real.  Our family plans continued and thankfully Micah’s pain level was very minimal and we could still go out to pizza and to the ski show!! It was so fun! We took grandpa with us and I’m so glad I could spend some time w my dad as life has been so full this summer. I look up to my dad in so many ways...he was telling me last week he biked from his house down to the Mississippi River and back! Isn’t

The weather cooled down nice for camp. It felt good to have a bit cooler temps for a few days after coming off that hot heat!! We pulled into camp Monday afternoon and in no time had our basketball shorts, shoes and balls in hand heading to the camps gym in no time. The boys hooked up with their Niven friends and began playing some b-ball together. Kyle and I, Michelle and Cory headed over to watch our guys play and it was lots of fun visiting together and cheering for our guys until it happened....I could sense the heat building between Drew and Micah and I should have intervened 5minutes earlier because Drew gave Micah a bit of a push into the gym wall and bam Micah hit the wall creating a minor concussion that slammed him down on the gym floor breaking his arm, right above the wrist. Ugh!! And so that’s how our camp week begin!  The good news however is Micah found so many ways to still have a great week at camp anyway! This night ranked as my favorite date night of the summer!❤️Kyle and I had a gift certificate for the stone barn and it was delicious and the coolest place ever!! So out in the middle of nowhere but so pretty to be in the heart of Wisconsin living and enjoying the scenery. We definitely will go back and we thought it would be a fun place to bring our church staff as well to hang out! Pizza and the best chat time with my favorite person in the whole world!! Love him!❤️ We explored the area after supper and found lake Eau Galle!! A bit less green and sandy bottom, we will have to come back w our guys. Fun to explore and enjoy a night out!! It was a great night.❤️

It was a nice weekend at the lake. We spent Saturday resting, swimming and playing outside all day. The weather was warm and just perfect for jumping in the lake whenever we felt too hot!! We had a nice evening at Zorbaz picking up our race packets and eating pizza together. Kyle and I felt really excited to race in the morning! After supper we played at the park for a bit before heading back to play Sorry and cheer for the Vikings!! Jacob took this picture of Caleb and I playing Sorry...Caleb always beats me at this game! He is the Sorry champion! In the morning we woke up and gathered all our triathlon supplies (it can be a lot of stuff!) and headed out to set up. Kyle and put on our wet suits and headed to the beach for our meeting at 7:45a before the start at 8a. Kyle was the 3rd wave and I was in the 5th wave. The weather has been hot and steamy so far in August and we are lovin’ any pools we can get into!! Today we headed out to the fairfax pool in Eau Claire and had so much fun. The boys really enjoyed jumping off the high diving boards! I think Caleb was playing in the pool with his goggles on at this time.  Jakey jumps!  Micah man!! Both our big guys!! Baseball 2018 is officially completed for us. It was a great season for all 4 boys and we feel so blessed to have had family and friends who have come to cheer on our boys, many have helped with carpooling or feeding our boys, and some who have even welcomed our boys to stay in a hotel room with your family.... all to help us in making this baseball season with 4 boys a true success! Kyle and I are so grateful for the roles so many have played in the lives of our boys- coaches, mentors and fans!! Cheers to a great baseball season filled with more games and practices then we can even begin to count!⚾️

The beautiful sunset evening at the ball field was a highlight for us!  We had a fun night as a family cheering for Micah at the state tournament in Farmington Mn. He pitched 5 straight innings that game, a true joy to watch. Micah is one great pitcher and loves it. Saturday morning the weather was already pretty toasty warm but look who turned around and smiled at me! Micah has such a contagious smile and was pretty excited to start playing baseball.  In the dugout chillin’ and cheering for his team! Micah’s coach was fantastic and he gave lots of great team talks throughout the season post games. It’s so cute seeing them all looking at coach. The boys really started to connect well this season and it was fun watching them hang out together in between games and swimming at the hotel.  The boys took 3rd place at their final tournament in Hallie, Wisconsin. Such a fun way to finish up the season!! Great team, Great season!! So fun to cheer for Micah this season!! You are an awesome pitc
