Camping at Devils lake State Park+ great Trail running!

Image
Camping At Devils lake State park this week! We had such a fun time together. Just a little rain during the night but otherwise we were dry. These two were our navigators! Our tent! We had plenty of room. Great views of the lake, and even better smiles! Our full campsite! Next year I will reserve this site again. It was perfect for us. We love it here My parents were our highlight camping, they make every adventure so much fun and always make us laugh and love to explore! The boys wanted to see how high they could rock climb! Rock jumping is our favorite here! Hiking  always nice to enjoy a hike in the mornings before lunch or later in the day when it cools off. We love to pack our backpack with snacks and drinks too just in case! Our campsite, my favorite yet. By far! #337 On the trails I see the most pretty flowers…one of the reasons I enjoy trail running. Balanced Rock it was a climb but very worth it! I hope I remember this loop for next summer! It was perfect with all the great

Lake Placid- year #2 on cabin hunting!

Lake Placid was a whole new experience for us!! At first we weren’t quite sure…as the lake front property was not the best…BUT we created our own beach in the middle of the lake and beofre you knew it we were sad to go home.  The pontoon, boat, lily pad, and jet ski made the week a blast! Tubing was still incredible to watch and the big kids get so crazy! July 4th 🇺🇸 Celebrating was a great time and these guys rocked out the flag cakes! Fireworks 🎇  Cousin time  is so important, and worth every moment. Love these smiles 😁 Running  has been going really well this summer! I love my morning routine. Swimming Is our favorite activity! I love watching the boys dive into the water, living freely.  Our “beach” this year haha! Emmi you are the sweetest! We are so glad you are apart of our family! 2023 Lake Time!   Lake Placid left a mark on our hearts for sure! ❤️ Thankful for family time!!

3:00:38 Grandmas Marathon PR!! I’m still smiling…things are coming along nicely in my marathon expertise! Haha, Im just being silly but I really am learning more as I go-what works best for me, what doesn’t.  June 17th was a blast!! Cramps hit strong in my left calf around mile 18 and then my pace got more limited as I went, I was so scared I would pull something that I tried to find the balance of push and hold up! Super proud of this race and the battle I fought. The marathon is a beast and continues to challenge me! Games ON still for the CIM Marathon on December 3rd. 😁First up though, trails and less miles for me for awhile. My friend Leah is a true gem, someone I really enjoy sharing running miles and life with. Kyle, Micah and I enjoyed time with Leah’s family in Duluth. Her sister Sara and brother-in-law Mike made us feel so welcome and special!  I’ve been getting faster and continue to PR each year since my late 30s, in fact the last time I raced Grandmas Marathon I ran a 3:16
