North Star Mountain πŸ” July 27th

Image
We headed to Dillion, CO this morning after stopping at Walmart for more food! Felt great to stock up on some fruit and veggies and trail mix! Kyle had an “easy” hike in mind that turned out to be 6.5 miles long and hiked up to 12,709ft of elevation.😳 Although much tougher then expected and we were not prepared with enough water and snacks for this strenuous adventure, it was super incredible!  Check it out! Here’s our view from the RV- all up front wanting to talk and play car games! Love this time together....most of the timeπŸ˜‰ North Star Mountain here we come!!! Incredible view and cooler temps for this hike. They are such great hikers! North Star mine was pretty cool to see! Climbing! And Climbing!! Breathtaking. The Summit is always worth the work. You are more radiant with light, more majestic than mountains. Psalms 76:4

Hiking at Cragg’s trail July 26th

Image
Sunday morning hiking at Cragg’s trail to keep the legs movin’ after race day! The weather was a little uncertain but we decided to go for it, some of us bringing rain coats and some not. It was fun to have Rick join us for some family fun too!  Jake was a hoot hiking with his coat hanging from his backpack, making great conversations with Rick, and seemed to feel “itchy” throughout the hike. Such a trooper! Momma of the house here! πŸ’ͺ🏻😜 Livin’ with 5 guys is no piece of cake! King Rick! I was hoping he wouldn’t fall backwards!😳 Nice having company on family hikes, makes for great photographers!! Great view and a fun way to spend a recovery morning after an ultra race! Today’s Scripture: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”    John 1:5

Pikes Peak Ultra July 25th⛰

Image
This day went by way too fast....it began at 4:00am when the alarm went off. Made a piece of toast while waking up, trying to remember what I signed up for... oh yeah, Pikes Peak Ultra! This race was about to challenge me a bit more then any race I’ve ever done.   Today, I was taking on a 50mile ultra run! Thankful God brought the greatest running partner into my life, because running together is so much better then running alone! Here is our running crew ready to head out at 4:50a! Race started at 5:40a and the sunrise was so pretty as we headed out. I soaked in every moment of the day and enjoyed some incredible views along the way! Ran in the moment and didn’t worry or think about anything other then the mile I was in and looking around to see everything around me. Time meant nothing to me.  1st bib worn this year with COVID-19, actually pretty cool moment so needed to get this pic. Our approach in training and racing ultras is to conserve our energy on the incline

Moab!!! July 22nd/23rdπŸ™Œ

Moab was the one spot I was most excited for the guys to see after I had visited here in 2018 with Kyles mom and sister. We had such a great “Girls” trip that I wanted to show the guys all the fun stuff we did! It was so much fun. πŸ˜ƒ My best friend exploring Moab with Me!❤️  All my Guys on a rock! They are my rock in life, love them all!!πŸ’š Sand Dune Arch was a cool stop in the park, check these fun pics out! This is my favorite spot in the whole park, I hope I get to come back again someday. It’s so pretty and fun in here!  ATV touring was a blast!! We ate supper early so we could take these out for sunset, unfortunately it was raining but still really fun and the rain eased up so we could still have a sweet experience together! So much laughing!!πŸ˜† And super great views!! We loved Bubbas helmet!  Lord, your creation is so Incredible to Us!  In our raincoats!😁 Lovin’ life and Adventure!   Sunset after all the rain, God continues to

Capital Reef National Park July 21st

A quick stop for us at Capital Reef but so glad we decided to take a sneak peak and check this place out! It was hot and humid so the guys didn’t have raving energy for much but we managed a few hikes and picked up some stickers for our water bottles.   This was so neat and freaked Kyle and I out a bit watching the guys do this climb from a distance!😳 Made for fun pics though and Drew reminded us they were just fine.πŸ˜‰  Drew at the peak!  Hickman Bridge Trailhead was sweet and our favorite spot here. It was only a 2 mile hike, so just right for us today.  Our view from our campsite. Kyle and I have been so pleased with all our RV sites so far! We were talking last night that it really helped we made reservations to these sites early.  Just hangin’ out and chillin’!😎Glad to be off the road. Burgers and pasta salad for supper, and playing cards together. This is Summer 2020!! Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since leaving home. What an Awesome adventure this is for us!😍
