femur injury-    Sharing the best of what I and the boys and Kyle remember...the tubing rope was under my leg and the boys were going tubing... the rope pulled tight and somehow wrapped around my leg sending me into the air doing a complete 360 "summersault" in the air... Micah said my head was coming towards the back seat of the boat and he pushed my head down so my body wouldn't crash into the back of the boat helping it turn so I landed on my butt back into the boat on the boat floor.  Kyle stopped the boat, and as I stood up, I just felt confused like a concussion feeling, but overall pretty good despite the rope burn around my leg. I remember going to the back of the boat to cry it out a minute because I was really scared.  We moved on that day thankful I was alright and only had a scar to show for it...  I went back to running and racing like normal, until about 6 weeks later my hip was giving me some trouble on my daily runs.   A New Chapter begins.... as I wrap my mind around finding out I have a moderate- grade stress reaction of the proximal femur, bone marrow and periosteal edema is present in the upper femoral shaft. There was no stress fracture identified however the imaging they took didn't extend the full length of my femur to fully know 100%... and the truth is the recovery time on either a reaction or fracture is very extensive and so I will wait to get further imaging done by MRI on Jan 4th, 2027 to check on the progression of my healing.  So as I learn to move my body in new ways, given a strict swimming only option at this time and upper body/core work, I will share with you how this process is going on a week-to-week basis.   My morning runs have been very quiet, and very pretty! It has been a really good summer, and I am still squeezing every moment of warm sunshine I can. The red cedar trail has been a fave running spot and should prepare me well for my next marathon at Whistlestop! I am only 9 weeks away and I am really enjoying all the training that comes with training for a marathon. Sometimes I wonder if I enjoy the training and preparing more than the actual race hehehe...not really I do love racing...  This was my highlight photo from last week!  So so love it!!!

  Countdown is on with Drew and Maddie very glad we got one more weekend with all of us! ALL 4 boys- in one place- total chaos! It's a crazy place now when all 6+Maddie are in one place, but I  love the CRAZY+LAUGHTER!!!! pretty sweet summer together.

Those who know me well, know I can be sasssy and we were feeling pretty warm on this one!!! flowers just too pretty not to take pics!! sometimes I just stop in the middle of my runs to take these bc they're too pretty just to run by!  Hudson dinner and ice cream in Hudson with my parents and Drew!!   Cool trail found in town! Nice week in MN and very close to town, which was perfect. paddle boarding my new fave!! Sunsets- love watching each night. Lots of lake time together! Fun to see Maddie do some wakeboarding!! Tubing with Cousins! Girls in the sun! Family Time at the Lake!  These summer days are going fast, we are so happy we got so many great days on the lake together!

This place has been such a fun spot to getaway to this summer- I'm really glad we took on a new adventure! It is nice to get out of Menomonie and have a clean lake to swim and play in. It is different every weekend who comes along! Sometimes it's just me, or Kyle and I, and sometimes we get the whole crew.  REALLY enjoying my swims! I've gotten more confident swimming in the lake- even with the weeds! A lil smoky last weekend So many loons and eagles this summer! bonfires with the boys! Finding many good running spots! kayaking  Summer is my fave! These hot temps are my favorite and I am soaking them all up!

  Summer running! Has been so much fun for me this summer... I smile all the time because it's so beautiful outside and I'm totally in love with what I do everyday. everywhere I run, its just gorgeous and I love running with friends who love this too running it's what makes me feel alive.

  The weather has been just perfect! The water is warm and I have loved swimming so much this summer.  Fishy4 race in Chetek was a lot of fun, I'm glad I gave it a try! back to the boat and it was a great day on the lake! lots of fun awesome bonfires fun playing pool with the boys before fireworks! It was a really great weekend as a family.

Drew+Maddie engaged on June 28th, 2026 It was a fun night celebrating with family and grandparents! We are so excited for you Drew and MAddie! Let the planning begin.
