Camping Trip 2012

Gunderson Camping Trip 2012 was an absolute blast!!!
Kyle and I were truly impressed by our little campers! They were great!
The boys all love playing in the tent and making sure everything is ready to go- Caleb is testing out the flashlight! Check! Works Great!

Jacob tested our lantern-Check! That worked great too! We were set for FUN in the dark!!!
We camped at Cascade State Park along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Here are the Cascade waterfalls! Gorgeous! Andrew, Micah and Caleb loved hiking each day and exploring lots of new waterfalls-gooseberry falls, caribou falls, temperance river falls, hidden falls, and cascade falls.
 Gooseberry Falls- A family favorite!
Kyle and Andrew exploring the falls- all senses involved! They had a blast hiking up the falls, swimming under the falls, and Andrew even jumped off rock cliffs into the river! I am getting more afraid of what they will be doing when they are teenagers!
Kyle and Caleb swimming at Caribou Falls
Kyle and all 3 boys enjoying the water and the adventure!
One of the best ways to hike with little ones is a backpack carrier! We had one for Caleb and one for Jacob. Caleb did not use his often, but occasionally when the hiking got a little too much. We took a carrier that compacted into our snack and water bottle backpack so we could pull it out if needed. Worked really slick!

Back at the campsite- lots of food cooked right over the fire: scrambled eggs in ziplock baggies, pizza and blueberry pies, hot dogs, jiffy pop and marshmellows and roasted peanuts.... YUMMY!!!
Grandpa and grandma joined us camping and we were so thankful to have them with us! The boys loved taking turns sleeping in their tent, holding their hand while hiking, singing silly songs by the campfire, eating treats together, being in Gods creation together and making lots of memories that will last a lifetime. Grandpa and grandma hold a very special place in our heart and we are so glad they were able to join us on our adventure to the North Shore!!!
