Micah's Surgery

Our relaxed, easy going 7 year old, Micah Robert, had surgery March 26th in Eau Claire.  We were so proud of how brave our sweet boy was that day and how thankful we were that the whole procedure went so smooth. Micah you make my heart sing of the Lord faithfulness to us each day!

Micah had such a stuffy, plugged nose for at least 6 months. I thought either he was just getting colds because he never dresses warm enough or he must have allergies of some kind. So, I took him into the clinic and our family doctor gave him some over- the- counter allergy medicine to try and see if that would clear things up...nope! Not at all! Micah's teacher talked to us at conferences how he always had to get up and get a kleenex throughout the day at school and how plugged he sounded when he would read out loud. Kyle and I were not really sure what to do...

One night I was laying in bed with Micah listening to him read to me, which I always love and he is so good at! He has so much expression in his reading that always makes me smile. Anyway, I was looking at him that night as the reading lamp was shining to help him see and I noticed he looked super plugged up! So I got him a kleenex and told him to blow and clear out his nose. Well, thats when I realized he couldn't blow anything out of his right nostril. I realized he had a polyp in his nose! Not knowing how big or how you even remove something like that, we went into the ENT (ears, nose, throat) specialist and thats when they told us Micah would need to have surgery.  Kyle and I were both a bit concerned about having him put under and have never had to walk through anything like this with our other boys yet, so we prayed the Lord would give us His peace. Micah was a bit worried about having to be "put to sleep" but when the surgery day came (almost a whole month after we found out) he was really anticipating being able to breathe and feel better.

Micah asked that his family (grandma, grandpa, gg, nana, aunts, uncles, cousins) would pray for him each step of the way.... we are so thankful for such a wonderful supportive family who prayed for Micah! We are so thankful that Micah can breathe so well out of his nose now and feels better too since having the polyp removed.  It was pretty massive for a 7 year old, 1.5x1.5 in size. Micah we rejoice with you buddy how you were able to feel your heavenly Fathers presence with you that day and how you knew He would take good care of you!

One of many stories to come where we see the hand of God at work in our boys...
