Day with dad!

This past friday the boys and I had a day together.  Mom took off early in the morning for a day trip with the ladies to Bemidji for some shopping and lunch.  We took this as a guys only day and made the most of it.  We went to n at McDonald's and met our good friends Skip and Jim for Lunch and time to play.  The boys loved the time and spent an hour climbing up the towers and down the slides.  We went home and all took naps, what a relief!  After naps we woke up and raked a pile of leaves in the back yard, not for yard work, but to jump in of course.  Andrew then wanted to go to the library and play some computer games, read stories, do puzzles, and put on stickers.  After the library we headed home to meet mom and have Papa Murphy's pizza that she had brought home.  It was a very full, but great day.  We all slept great at night.  Check out the movies of our leaf pile.  Andrew and Micah would love it if you would leave them a comment about their leaf jumps so we could read them to them.

Micah that was an awesome pile of leaves you raked. Nana couldn't see you once you went down the slide! You are getting to be such a big boy, just like your brother!

Andrew, I miss you so much. Wish I was there to plant bulbs with you this weekend. Your climbing and sliding is awesome too. Remember when we put that slide in last summer and it was off the ground a little bit? Now we know why...so you can have a great big leaf pile at the end! Soon it will be a big snow pile!

Wow Drew, did you make that Big pile of leaves?? Looks like fun, Micah looks like he was tring to swim in the leaves when he flew off the end of the slide. I remember you both in a pile of laves last fall, I think you tried jumping out of the pile and scareing us...

Wow Andrew and Micah!! You two are some wild boys!! That leave pile looks awesome, you and your Daddy must have worked hard to get such a giant pile. It looks like so much fun to zoom down that slide and fly into all those crunchy leaves!

Sounds like you had a fun boys only day with your daddy! That pile of leaves looked like a lot of fun to jump in, that is the best part about this time of the year! Enjoy the leaves before they all blow away.

Hey There! We thank all of you so much for all of your prayer support through this entire process. Go sure had His hand in this from the beginning. Anna and Micah are both doing just great. Yesterday was a hard day for Anna, She was very tired and had a hard time as the Doctors began to take her off of some of the pain meds she was not feeling good. She began to get a high temp,but that was all taken care of by early in the night and she slept great. She will be again trying to get of the IV pain meds and move to pills, if this goes well today we will be on our way home to see Drew tomorrow. Anna and I are both really loving the calm personality that God gave to little Micah as we know the high energy that Drew has waiting for us at home. We can't wait to see his little smile again and hear all of his animal noises and cars sounds. It will be so great to see the way that God grows these two boys only 17 months apart. It will be crazy and great all at the same time. Pray

Big Bro Twin Cities Champion/Little Sis Big Woods 1/2 Marathon Champion

My brother and I are the crazy runners in our family! We took on the Twin Cities Marathon challenge on October 7th and trained like mad to get ready for the event. We began the morning feeling great and ready to take on the challenge before us, yet not knowing only one of us would finish. Ben was taking on his first marathon and was looking forward to finishing and enjoying this wild adventure! I however have done a few of these already and was aimed to kick some butt in the process. So, different goals, but the same idea in mind-lets run the race for Christ. The race did not go as planned for me. The weather was extremely hot and humid and it totally took over my body. All I can really remember is thinking, "Wow it is really hot and I am really sweating!" With little to drink I passed out at mile 10 of the marathon! Wolf River White Water Rafting Youth Trip!

We were able to start the tradition of taking the International Falls youth to the great Wolf River. We took a great group of kids who did not know what to expect and drove the 10 hours to the river. We spend 2 days rafting and then hit the road for home. The students and leaders had a great time navigating the rapids themselves, flipping a boat or two and of course the water falls were a huge hit. U had the opportunity to sit down at the camp fire and one day in our boat with some of the students who do not regularly come to our ministry and talk about the relationship with Christ. These discussions where by far the highlight of my trip, getting to encourage students in their faith and hear the testimony about how they came to know the Lord was just awesome. Our first night it rained more than i have ever seen, and most of our tents stayed dry.
