Memorial Day Weekend!

We finally got a feel for some awesome summer weather over Memorial weekend! The boys were pumped to get into the boat and enjoy the warm sun and water fun as a family!!
This was our first time out to test the boat and make sure all was running smoothly! It worked great!! Brought the boat back home to wash and clean it and get it loaded with snacks, drinks and towels!! 

Drew's favorite activity as a family is to have us all on the boat being together. He loves being on the water all the time, any time of day!
Caleb is easing in slowly to boat life. He loves going tubing and getting on the lily pad (our newest addition) and beginning to enjoy the sport of skiing. Caleb's favorite thing to do is visit with everyone and be right where his brothers are.
Jake comes along for the ride.... and the snacks!! The minute he steps foot in the boat he is ready to start snacking!! Loves anything Bethany or I bring out, and especially loves those juice boxes!! He got on the lily pad a bit too this weekend, and enjoyed a very leisurely tubing ride with mommy and Caleb. 
Micah is all about the fun and laughter of being on the lake. He loves taking his turn wake boarding but never fights his way to be first. His favorite thing to do is jump in the lake and swim with his brothers. You can tell he is becoming so much more confident in the lake! We love watching him swim and wake board!

I loved this pic with Ashley on their wake board tower. Totally explains how relaxed we get on the lake. So great to see Bethany in the lake for the first time! She loves the water and spending time with all our kids!!

Our newest addition this summer is the Lily Pad!! This enormous mat is a blast to play on, wrestle on or dive off of!! We had so much fun checking it out this weekend!!!

A great weekend being on the boat. There's no place we'd rather be!!! Bring it Summer 2014!!!
So blessed to have such wonderful friends to live life with and share our same interest in being on our boats with our kids....together!!!

Getting better and getting ready to go home!

Hey There! We thank all of you so much for all of your prayer support through this entire process. Go sure had His hand in this from the beginning. Anna and Micah are both doing just great. Yesterday was a hard day for Anna, She was very tired and had a hard time as the Doctors began to take her off of some of the pain meds she was not feeling good. She began to get a high temp,but that was all taken care of by early in the night and she slept great. She will be again trying to get of the IV pain meds and move to pills, if this goes well today we will be on our way home to see Drew tomorrow. Anna and I are both really loving the calm personality that God gave to little Micah as we know the high energy that Drew has waiting for us at home. We can't wait to see his little smile again and hear all of his animal noises and cars sounds. It will be so great to see the way that God grows these two boys only 17 months apart. It will be crazy and great all at the same time. Pray

Big Bro Twin Cities Champion/Little Sis Big Woods 1/2 Marathon Champion

My brother and I are the crazy runners in our family! We took on the Twin Cities Marathon challenge on October 7th and trained like mad to get ready for the event. We began the morning feeling great and ready to take on the challenge before us, yet not knowing only one of us would finish. Ben was taking on his first marathon and was looking forward to finishing and enjoying this wild adventure! I however have done a few of these already and was aimed to kick some butt in the process. So, different goals, but the same idea in mind-lets run the race for Christ. The race did not go as planned for me. The weather was extremely hot and humid and it totally took over my body. All I can really remember is thinking, "Wow it is really hot and I am really sweating!" With little to drink I passed out at mile 10 of the marathon! Wolf River White Water Rafting Youth Trip!

We were able to start the tradition of taking the International Falls youth to the great Wolf River. We took a great group of kids who did not know what to expect and drove the 10 hours to the river. We spend 2 days rafting and then hit the road for home. The students and leaders had a great time navigating the rapids themselves, flipping a boat or two and of course the water falls were a huge hit. U had the opportunity to sit down at the camp fire and one day in our boat with some of the students who do not regularly come to our ministry and talk about the relationship with Christ. These discussions where by far the highlight of my trip, getting to encourage students in their faith and hear the testimony about how they came to know the Lord was just awesome. Our first night it rained more than i have ever seen, and most of our tents stayed dry.
