Thanksgiving Weekend!!

Thanksgiving weekend 2013 was truly one of Kyle and my very favorite weekends as a family. It was one of those weekends where their was perfect fluidity and flow. The boys were fun and had great attitudes and the weather was just about perfect...Kyle and I felt so blessed!!
On Thanksgiving morning we ran in our towns family fun 1 mile and 5k run. Micah completed his first 5k in 28 minutes with Kyle and the rest of us took on the mile run and cheered everyone coming in to the finish.
After the race we went back to clean up and headed to my hometown, Brooklyn Park for the day. I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to go home to see mom and dad.... I felt teary just pulling into the driveway. It was so nice to be loved on and cared for...the entire day!!! Lots of relaxing and being with those who we love so much!!
Every Thanksgiving we have craft time and the kids are really getting into this fun tradition!!
Lots of painting going on...
Grandma and Andrew crafting it!!!
These two boys make us smile...they love being cousins and playing "guys." Most of the time we don't even see them much as they are so busy playing!
Mid afternoon football game took place at the park my brothers and I would play at growing up!! So fun to run around and play together....just like the old days!!
We added a little birthday singing to the day before we all got too tired or stuffed and enjoyed lots of yummy pies!! Thanks to my sister in law Sarah Joy for finding these awesome birthday glasses!! Nice!!
The boys learned how to play phase 10 this weekend and LOVE it!!! We had a super great Thanksgiving and a many thank you to my mom and dad for allowing us to come to them and be loved on in a much needed way... love you!!!
A family tradition since moving to Menomonie is going to cut our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Pleasant Valley is the best place to go!! We usually end with popcorn and hot cocoa but this year we decided to start and end our tree cutting experience with popcorn and hot cocoa!!! :) double goodness!!
Drew enjoying his family time at Pleasant Valley.
Got to see Santa and Mrs. Clause!! Boys told them they wanted an ipad and an ipod touch... hope they aren't disappointed!! Kyle and I are sure not ready to jump into any of that yet!! Yikes!!
The boys and I ready to find the perfect tree!!
Andrew ready to measure!!
And we found literally the perfect tree!!! Way to go guys!! Sometimes just looking at all these boys I live with I find myself thinking....oh boy!!! So blessed everyday!!:)
Watching our tree get ready to come home!!!
Making our countdown till Christmas chain!!
Kyle loved playing scrabble with Andrew this weekend. Micah helped out and checked on the big guys to see who was winning.
Time to decorate the tree...Andrew is getting so big. He loved putting on the fancy ornaments this year!
Micah loves to decorate and took his time putting each ornament on...
All boys were instructed to get their ornament from daddy so we kept the whole experience a bit under control!!
Baby Jake already 2 years old...Christmas is so exciting to him and he loves that he feels he can really help and be apart of things that the rest of us can do! Putting the candy canes on has been such a gift to me this year. He works so hard hooking those candies on and asks when he can eat one. "Now mommy?" "Eat cane mommy?" Kyle and I are really enjoying everything about him these days...maybe because he truly is our last...
Sweet Caleb admired each and every ornament he placed on our tree this year and asked Kyle about what made them special and whose they were or belong to...daddy's first Christmas, mommy's first Christmas, Caleb's first Christmas...... he is our compassionate boy.
A special tradition that both nana and gg and grandma and grandpa do at Thanksgiving time is give the boys or family an ornament. This year grandma and grandpa gave us an ornament with the three wisemen on it. Nana and GG blessed the boys with black bear ornaments all doing a sport or activity each boy enjoys doing... so special and the boys just love it!!

And here is our Christmas tree completed and a weekend full of thankfulness and blessings. Kyle and I love spending time with our boys and creating those special moments and days that just belong to us... so much to be thankful for!!! Let the Christmas season begin!!
