Birthdays
One of our family's favorite things about Fall is celebrating 2 very special birthdays. This year was really special because it was Drew's 10th birthday. Kyle and I are still shocked that our little Drew is already 10! Incredible how fast time flies. I feel like it was yesterday we were shooting hoops for hours in the basement together. Drew could shoot from all angles and swish it at like 2 years old, no joke!! It was so much fun. And I remember when he was 5 years old and he wanted me to tally all his shots made. We'd also put duck tape down and make up different points for how far away he could shoot. I'd sit on a folding chair with my clipboard, recording. We did this ALL the time!! :)
Now, our guy is killin' me at "pig" and showing us how bigger boys play. And of course, how Nike basketball shoes and high socks give you the extra cool look. On to bigger things!
Drew has a heart of gold. Most days he loves being the big brother, and plays great with his little dude bros. Other days, he'd rather have no responsibility-don't blame him. :) He's 10!!
Drew had such a great night celebrating with 4 of his closer buddies playing football after school, eating at Pizza Ranch and heading to the Mustang vs. Cardinals game. It was a really special night.
We are so thankful that Drew has made such awesome friends here in Menomonie. These boys can play football or basketball...for hours.
Drew and Jacob's birthdays are so close together that we've enjoyed combining their special days together with our family. My dad does such a superb job at birthday cakes! So glad he loves doing this for the boys. They are always so decorative and super yummy.
Drew and Jake, you are loved by all of us! 10 and 4 are great ages to be!!
Happy Birthday sweet boys.
We feel so lucky that great grandpa Curt comes to our parties! So blessed to have him with us. He loves our boys to pieces. Had a really nice walk with him while he was here. I love his view on life and hearing about his relationship with the Lord.
Boys had so much fun opening gifts!
To end our party day we all ran in the "Glow Run" for the boy's school. We had lots of fun running in the dark and going through the "glow" tunnel! Fun to run with all our Oaklawn Elementary friends!
Jake's Day!
Right around the corner we celebrated Jake!! Him and I made this fancy cake with a bunch of candles. He kept telling me he wanted a cake with lots of 4's on it! Jake was so excited for the boys to come home from school and celebrate.I like the simpleness of being 4 and loving every minute of your special day!!
Candles are set in place just perfect, Jman.
Because we just didn't have enough celebrating we decided to take Jake to Culver's after supper and have sundaes. Jake is well loved by his brothers and they all treated him like a King.
Jake we love your endless Joy in life and that you love your family so much. We are thankful for you because you complete Us!
