Micah Update

Image
Micah had his 4 month appointment this week! He weighed 15lbs and was 27 inches long! Dr. Stone said he was in the 50% for weight and 97% for height. We have a big boy on our hands! He is taking after his daddy everyday! Micah is a true delight to be around. He is so laid back and much more relaxed than his big brother Andrew. As parents it is so fun to watch the personality differences between the boys. Micah will take a nap in your arms, Andrew needs his bed and blankie. Also, Micah is comfortable cooing with new people, Andrew is much more hesitant and timid around those he doesn't know. Kyle and I are enjoying being parents of two handsome boys! What a blessing to have two healthy little boys.

What a Wonderful Nana and GG!

We had a wonderful week with Nana and GG! They came up to see us with a car full of exciting things for all of us! As you can see Andrew loves his new rock wall climber and yellow slide! In fact, Kyle and I are enjoying it as well as it keeps Andrew busy and is a blast to go down as well! In addition we received carpet to put inside the fort with a car rug to zoom his cars around! Andrew enjoyed playing with Nana and GG on his new outside toys! Terri and I had a nice time putting in Hosta along the back of the house. It looks so nice and we had a great time visiting and being together. I continue to be thankful for such a wonderful mother-in-law and friend. Throughout the week we were all blessed by Nana and GG. Going on walks, playing at the park, going to the beach, eating ice cream, and our evening bonfire will always be remembered. We are so thankful to be able to share life with them and be able to build memories together. Andrew has had a hard time adjusting since Nana has left...

Wolf River White Water Rafting Youth Trip!

Image
We were able to start the tradition of taking the International Falls youth to the great Wolf River. We took a great group of kids who did not know what to expect and drove the 10 hours to the river. We spend 2 days rafting and then hit the road for home. The students and leaders had a great time navigating the rapids themselves, flipping a boat or two and of course the water falls were a huge hit. U had the opportunity to sit down at the camp fire and one day in our boat with some of the students who do not regularly come to our ministry and talk about the relationship with Christ. These discussions where by far the highlight of my trip, getting to encourage students in their faith and hear the testimony about how they came to know the Lord was just awesome. Our first night it rained more than i have ever seen, and most of our tents stayed dry. But our two days on the river could not have been any better bright sun and 85 or so which is really hot for us from the far north. We had on...

Summer Vacation

Image
We just arrived home from a wonderful family get-a-way in Hakkensak Minnesota! We had a super time with my parents, grandparents, Ben and Kara and Jesse. Although some of us came only for a few days or even a night, we truly enjoyed being together. We won't forget the many memories that always leave us feeling sad at the end of the week to leave each other. Each of us enjoyed different aspects to this great trip- KYLE- Loved relaxing his body and mind from the everyday chaos of youth ministry. He also loved playing with his boys and wife at the beach and going to Itasca State Park to hike. Kyle provided great bonfires at night that allowed us to catch up with each other at the end of the day and laugh over silly moments that occured. ANNA- Enjoyed a break from the overwhelming task of watching two little boys! Grandpa and Grandma were a tremendous help in allowing me to put my feet up and enjoy the sun throughout the day. I also enjoyed sun fishing with my dad and mom each morning....

Beach Boys!

Image
Last Friday Drew, Micah and I went to the Beach on Rainy Lake! The weather was warm and sunny so I put suits and sunscreen on, and away we went! I'm sure I looked ridiculous walking across the beach with Micah in hand, a beach bag, pails and shovels, bubbles and an umbrella to keep Micah out of the sun! Plus shouting, "Andrew this way!" as he independently ran to the beach with little distractions along his way. I felt everyone thinking, "What a crazy women!" When your a mom with two children under the age of 19 months your self image goes out the window! As long as my boys were happy, nothing else matters! Andrew and I were surprised that the water felt refreshing. We swam and splashed each other for over an hour! Of course we had snacks and checked on Micah too. Andrew also had fun making sand castles together and blowing bubbles. Andrew and I buried Micah's toes in the sand and dipped his legs in the lake! He was full of smiles and let out a big laugh! We...

Marbulous!

Image
Daddy and Andrew just love playing with this Marble Ramp! Daddy claims Andrew is "helping" build this magificant runway, but I have a feeling he is setting Drew up for exciting marble action all on his own! Andrew just loves watching the marbles slide around and Daddy seems to get a thrill just the same! It is always fun to watch Daddy play and love on both our boys! We are blessed by such a great Daddy in our home. Anna

A little ministry update!

Image
This has been such a great spring to see the way God has worked in our ministry this past year. We have experienced God working in so many ways with our kids this past year. There have been many ups and downs and that has continued to be true this spring. There have been some very difficult times with kids as well as many very deep and meaningful times together. I have had the privilege of spending every Wednesday morning at the school library praying with the students, and have seen this ministry begin to grow and see more students waking up early and coming out to pray for each other , the school, and our ministry together. We have also made some great strides with our leadership students and we are beginning to see them start to step up and take charge within our ministry. Here goes an attempt to fill you in on some of the details of what we have been doing. This spring we have had an explosion of visitors at our late night open gyms. Once a month we open our doors to anyone who ...
