Summer Vacation








We just arrived home from a wonderful family get-a-way in Hakkensak Minnesota! We had a super time with my parents, grandparents, Ben and Kara and Jesse. Although some of us came only for a few days or even a night, we truly enjoyed being together. We won't forget the many memories that always leave us feeling sad at the end of the week to leave each other. Each of us enjoyed different aspects to this great trip-

KYLE- Loved relaxing his body and mind from the everyday chaos of youth ministry. He also loved playing with his boys and wife at the beach and going to Itasca State Park to hike. Kyle provided great bonfires at night that allowed us to catch up with each other at the end of the day and laugh over silly moments that occured.

ANNA- Enjoyed a break from the overwhelming task of watching two little boys! Grandpa and Grandma were a tremendous help in allowing me to put my feet up and enjoy the sun throughout the day. I also enjoyed sun fishing with my dad and mom each morning. We enjoyed talking and getting hot from the sun! Plus, I enjoyed spending time with Kyle and going on little dates to the ice cream shop!

ANDREW- Loved everything about this week. He loved swimming with Grandpa and Grandma at the beach every afternoon. He would jump off the dock into Grandpa arms and swish around in the lake. By the end of the week he was showing us some swimming motions! Andrew loved eating all the great treats too. In fact, when I weighed him on our scale at home he had gained 5 lbs! Guess we'll have to cut back a little this week! He loved going on walks in the evenings and throwing rocks in the lake. There wasn't a moment Andrew was unhappy because he loved everything about being with Daddy, Mommy, Micah, Grandpa/ma Stegeman, Uncle Ben, Aunt Kara, Uncle Jesse, and Great Grandpa/ma Britz.

MICAH- Slept great and loved all the great attention from everyone. He dipped his feet in the lake and even went out fishing! Micah's favorite part of the vacation was all the snuggling and kisses he was given. In fact, he has been the most fussy since we've come home- I think he misses Grandma and Grandpa already!

We were so thankful to be together as a family and enjoy the quietness and peacefulness of God's creation. Take a peak at a few of the memories we will hold from this trip! Have a great week!

Hey There! We thank all of you so much for all of your prayer support through this entire process. Go sure had His hand in this from the beginning. Anna and Micah are both doing just great. Yesterday was a hard day for Anna, She was very tired and had a hard time as the Doctors began to take her off of some of the pain meds she was not feeling good. She began to get a high temp,but that was all taken care of by early in the night and she slept great. She will be again trying to get of the IV pain meds and move to pills, if this goes well today we will be on our way home to see Drew tomorrow. Anna and I are both really loving the calm personality that God gave to little Micah as we know the high energy that Drew has waiting for us at home. We can't wait to see his little smile again and hear all of his animal noises and cars sounds. It will be so great to see the way that God grows these two boys only 17 months apart. It will be crazy and great all at the same time. Pray

Big Bro Twin Cities Champion/Little Sis Big Woods 1/2 Marathon Champion

My brother and I are the crazy runners in our family! We took on the Twin Cities Marathon challenge on October 7th and trained like mad to get ready for the event. We began the morning feeling great and ready to take on the challenge before us, yet not knowing only one of us would finish. Ben was taking on his first marathon and was looking forward to finishing and enjoying this wild adventure! I however have done a few of these already and was aimed to kick some butt in the process. So, different goals, but the same idea in mind-lets run the race for Christ. The race did not go as planned for me. The weather was extremely hot and humid and it totally took over my body. All I can really remember is thinking, "Wow it is really hot and I am really sweating!" With little to drink I passed out at mile 10 of the marathon! Wolf River White Water Rafting Youth Trip!

We were able to start the tradition of taking the International Falls youth to the great Wolf River. We took a great group of kids who did not know what to expect and drove the 10 hours to the river. We spend 2 days rafting and then hit the road for home. The students and leaders had a great time navigating the rapids themselves, flipping a boat or two and of course the water falls were a huge hit. U had the opportunity to sit down at the camp fire and one day in our boat with some of the students who do not regularly come to our ministry and talk about the relationship with Christ. These discussions where by far the highlight of my trip, getting to encourage students in their faith and hear the testimony about how they came to know the Lord was just awesome. Our first night it rained more than i have ever seen, and most of our tents stayed dry.
