COVID-19 Week 1

Week 1 Gunderson COVID-19 Schedule
Our 1st week after coming home from Florida was really a drastic switch for us! We all handled it pretty well last week...
Of course the teacher inside me decided a schedule would make our day feel more fulfilled and less chaotic so I have been following a light routine daily- at roughly these times

9a  each day at 9AM we head out for a family walk together. The route changes each day but we all head out on bike or walking together. I have ere ally enjoyed having Kyle join us for these walks each day before he heads to church. We are thankful he has still been able to work at church as it is easier for him to get his work done and for us to be noisy at home!
9:45a we get our bibles, journals and books and do our devotions and reading time. The boys were hesitant at first with this but now have really gotten into the schedule and are enjoying a quiet house to spend time with God and read.

10-11a is craft time, puzzles, games, or baking/cooking with mom! each day looks a little different during this hour but it has been fun to make taco dip with Drew, sugar cookies with Caleb, working on a puzzle with Micah and playing uno with Jake.

11-12p is free time or for the older guys it has been homework time for them. All their work is done online- so far it has been writing papers, zooming with classmates, and connecting with teachers by phone or email. Still getting into the school routine with teachers online.

12p lunch time
1-2p  chore time. each day looks different but lately it has been outside jobs- pick up sticks, removing wood chips so we can put in rocks instead around the house...

2-4pm technology time.  this is when the boys will do their technology websites the teachers have assigned them- Zearn, Prodigy, EPIC, writing center, etc. If all online schoolwork is complete then they can play games.
4-6pm outside time to get fresh air. Sometimes we go for a jog, hike, shoot hoops, home run derby as a family, bean bag tournaments, ride bikes, etc.
6p- suppertime
7-9p Family/ TV time. We've been enjoying movies or family games together during this time before bed.
9:30p  bedtime.

Week 1 went very well overall. Of course we had a few moments where it was tough, or isolated feeling, but I was very proud of my crew for managing a whole new life change in a very positive way. We will continue living One Day At A Time putting God first and trusting in Him.
