Regis High School great 1st tournament for Jake! He played well, took some great shots after warming up from game 1, loved being the top5 starter all day. So proud of you, Jake! This pic of Jake reminds me so much of his older brother Micah. Micah always stands with his hands on his hips. 42๐ฅณ woke up and ran right to the cross. It was a beautiful morning on my birthday this year. Thankful my body felt healthy and able to run to the cross this year. I was overwhelmed when I got to the cross and found myself kneeling down in the snow and I had tears flowing down my face. I am beyond grateful for the many ways God pours out His love for me! Thankful to call Him Healer, Comfortable, Friend. In the coming year! Excited to get back into racing, as well as learning to grow stronger in cross training and post running things. These two are so easy to neglect when you are just plowing through the miles when you are healthy. My hip injury gave me a new set of eyes on how key recovery and rest and mental training is to my running as well. It can take such a toll on your body, when you’re not careful. After Boston last year, I became reckless and mentally spiraled down into deep burnout and overtraining. Not resting or doing the things that I needed to for a healthy body in t
Soup Supper- a fun way for our family to start off the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a great turnout at church. Always fun to visit with our church family and hear how they are celebrating their holiday weekend too! Ben&Kara&Crew- came to our house to sleepover and hang out with us! We have really enjoyed this time with their family and it’s always fun to get up and head to the Turkey Trot together in EC on Thanksgiving morning! I wish I could order up warmer weather tho! It’s always so cold. Turkey Trot 5mile - there was a great turnout and it was really fun to feel in race mode again! It’s been awhile. Throughout my hip injury this summer, I remember thinking, “If only I can race at the Turkey Trot! That would be a great accomplishment.” I felt pretty blessed to lineup… and take 1st place female. ๐ฅbut even more happy to feel healthy again. Late start we lingered by the start line for about 20minutes! I was freezing cold. Results- fun morning! We did it! Loved getting this
