  Santa Cruz such a beautiful drive from Sacramento to Santa Cruz. Blue skies and sunshine the whole way! Here is our view from our room. I would definitely come back here. I loved how quiet this cute little town was, but also touristy and comfy. Such beautiful cliffs and views here. On my morning run, these views were amazing! I had so much fun watching the surfers. 43 yrs old🥳  loved celebrating in Santa Cruz with my favorite person in the whole world!  Pismo Beach My next favorite place to travel to and highly recommend! Our view of the ocean was gorgeous. The waves out in Cali are huge and we loved listening to the waves crashing all week. Our room. Loved it! Views at Pismo were incredible! Trail  running in Cali was a treat bc it felt so good on my legs post marathon. I have bounced back from my marathon very well. I’m feeling really good and excited for what’s ahead!   CIM23 RACE RECAP!! Race day started out super smooth with travels to the start line that were flawless, thank you Kyle for the 5:30a drop off!! Our 7a start time got bumped to 7:10a, thankful for my sweatshirt as I waited the extra time. Fun talking to other runners around me and hearing their game plans!  The first half of the race was pretty hilly, so I held back very conservatively on purpose. I remember thinking, “I’m getting more tired then I was hoping…” but didn’t get too worked up about it. I came across at 13.1 around 1:29:40ish and felt like I was doing a good job keeping it controlled. I came up alongside Andy around mile 18, surprised I had caught up to him at this point. I figured I could possibly hold on with him till the finish when I soon realized he was fading fast… I went ahead with the 3hr group but eventually I lost sight of the guy with the sign, it got warm out, and I needed water!   Cali trip! Our travels went so smooth and simple. I was beyond excited for this trip as I have wanted to check out this marathon in California for awhile now! Especially since it was right by my birthday 🥳 the course looked awesome, and I knew for sure it was a place I had to go explore and check out! Golden Gate Bridge Kyle and I decided to take the scenic route and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge for our first time together! So pretty, and So big! VRBO with friends!  We hooked up with my running buddy Andy and his wife and a few other friends that were so nice. They were running the marathon as a relay team! Kyle and I really enjoyed our time with them through the marathon weekend, always better together! Andy and I went for a shakeout run together on Saturday morning before heading to the expo. Expo  experience was fun and crazy busy! Found some great souvenirs here and took some fun pics! Melanie and Gloria were so sweet and funny!! Loved spending time with these guys! Folsom
