Gunderson Adventures.... where all 6 of Us live life to the fullest!

October is such a special month for our family because 2 of the 6 of us have birthdays! Drew and Jacob...our big and little guy! We had lots of fun celebrating these special guys!  I've gotta say Drew is incredible about encouraging Jacob in all he does.  I couldn't be more proud of the big guy Drew is becoming. We ran in the Run4Water with our church family and the boys decided they could all manage the 1 mile pretty well. Here comes Jacob and daddy to the finish line with Drew cheering them on! Nice work! Drew has officially turned 11 and Jman 5years old. Fun celebrating these two with our family! Lots of thoughtful gifts and great birthday singing! Our big surprise this year for the boys were new bikes. Drew got a really nice Giant bike and Jake got his very own bike that no one has EVER rode before! Kyle and I felt so grateful to have the chance to get away with our bikes in the suburban for a few days Just Us!! We joined the Covenant Pastors Retreat in Walker, MN and it was gorgeous! I felt super spoiled with beautiful trails to run on (and new scenery) and we had fun checking out the biking trails too! The changing leaves were breathtaking. The place we stayed at was really nice and had a perfect view of the lake. Kyle and I so enjoyed the time to connect with each other and friends we hadn't seen for a long time. My favorite spot to read my bible and journal was at this cafe right by our hotel. If Kyle couldn't find me he knew right where to look! As always time this special flies by, but what a treat it was to refresh with my favorite person in the whole world and spend quiet time with the Lord. He is so good to me! Thankful for life lived fully in His arms....everyday.

Before these days get too far ahead of me I need to pause a moment and reflect on what a special Fall it has been for our family. The Apple Orchard and Homecoming events in Menomonie are just a few! We sure missed daddy and Drew the day we went to the apple orchard in Spring Valley. However, the rest of our crew had a wonderful time and had fun on the hay ride! The boys had fun picking out apples and pumpkins and eating donuts... Such a fun afternoon with these 3! The Homecoming parade is a favorite tradition for us and the weather was perfect! Loved hanging out with the Husby family and having supper together before the game. Year #2! We got all sorts of crazy cool stuff from the parade and fun to see some of our friends in the parade too! So cute to watch the boys watching and waiting with bags in hand... It's incredible how much candy the boys take home from the parade. They really don't even need to get trick-or-treating on Halloween! It's all stil...

Fall has officially kicked off! Mom and I headed out for our 2nd annual get away to the cabin in Spicer! It was a wonderful weekend of connecting, laughing and time spent together enjoying the beautiful fall weather.   Here's our "We Made It!" pic we sent to Kyle and my dad.  My favorite part of the whole weekend was chatting with mom about everything and anything that comes to mind...we had so many great chats while walking, kayaking and relaxing together. And the weather was absolutely gorgeous!  Mom wanted to take this picture of me by the kayaks.:) I cherish the time I spend with my mom and find myself feeling so thankful for her each and everyday. However, getting away together is extra extra special to me! I hope we continue to make this trip a priority each year... it's one of my favorites!

These boys love getting ready to head back to school because to them that means lunch out alone with mom, getting new clothes, and new shoes!!! I mean seriously, who wouldn't love that?! Check out these smiles! We found all 4 pairs of school shoes at Scheel's! It was a back 2 school Miracle!! Found these boys hanging out on the front step talking about what teachers they have this year and who's in their class...sounds like it will be a great year! Proud moment to be a 5th grader! Crazy that he is the top dog this year at Oaklawn!! Fun year ahead! It was a great 1st day of school and so fun to hear all about it while making Oreo shakes for our after school snack! Labor Day Weekend was such a treat for us! We took off for the cabin after the boys went into school to meet their teachers and told them we would not be at school on the 1st day (It was a Friday this year). It was perfect. GG and the big guys playing some Uno Spin together...we played lots and lots of games together! Scategories is a new favorite of ours! Nana playing some catch with the boys. We spent lots of time playing catch, shooting hoops, riding the scooters and going for walks. The weather was perfect! A bit more like fall in the air. Boys had fun doing some final rounds of wakeboarding on the lake this weekend~we so love being on the water! One of our favorite spots to have supper and hang out on the beach at Green Lake... Zorbas! Summer 2016, you brought so many fantastic memories as a family and also some challenging moments that only proved to bring us 6 closer together. Before our summer came to an end we enjoyed a few last special days soaking up the sun and time together... Glenwood Hills Beach! The boys thought it would be so fantastic to bury each other in the sand. As we buried each of them they giggled so much that the sand would make wrinkles and try to break apart, but we quickly kept patching it up and buried quick! Jakey said he needed a pillow so we bunched up a beach towel :) Silly afternoon with these 3! Drew took off to the Como Zoo with a buddy from school so he missed out on this adventure. Summer you Rock! Roaring at Irvine Park! Beautiful afternoon to take off to Chippewa Falls and go to this fun mini zoo and park! Never too old to ROAR like a Bear!!! Before heading home we stopped at our favorite place... Olson's Ice Cream! Oreo, Cotton Candy, Sherbet and Cookie Dough were some of our ice cream flavors! YUMMM!! Sure going to miss these ice cream smiles once school begins!
