Gunderson Adventures.... where all 6 of Us live life to the fullest!

One of our family's favorite things about Fall is celebrating 2 very special birthdays. This year was really special because it was Drew's 10th birthday. Kyle and I are still shocked that our little Drew is already 10! Incredible how fast time flies. I feel like it was yesterday we were shooting hoops for hours in the basement together. Drew could shoot from all angles and swish it at like 2 years old, no joke!! It was so much fun. And I remember when he was 5 years old and he wanted me to tally all his shots made. We'd also put duck tape down and make up different points for how far away he could shoot. I'd sit on a folding chair with my clipboard, recording. We did this ALL the time!! :) Now, our guy is killin' me at "pig" and showing us how bigger boys play. And of course, how Nike basketball shoes and high socks give you the extra cool look. On to bigger things! Drew has a heart of gold. Most days he loves being the big brother, and plays great ...

We love parades and when we moved to Menomonie we were really excited to hear they had a Homecoming parade!! Every year its a fun tradition.   The boys love the massive amounts of candy given each year and go crazy in the streets grabbing as much as possible, as though they've never had candy before. These smiles are sneaky because they say, "We want candy!"  A little pre-show before the parade began from Drew and Preston- Nice!  Waiting to pounce at any candy dropped. These boys. Then off to the Homecoming game we went! The weather was great and there were tons of fans ready to cheer on the Mustangs! As always the Gboys know that mom only comes along if she has a box of milk duds and a diet coke. The game was pretty intense but in the end, Mustangs won!!! Fun evenings that make great traditions. Kyle and I are enjoying all these little moments with our youngest Jake to the fullest extent because we know how fast time flies before this dude will be off to school with his brothers. Here are some fun pics of Jake making the most of each day~  On the first day of school for all the brothers, Jake and I celebrated by going preschool shopping and having Culver's for lunch. We talked the whole time and really dipped our french fries in lots and lots of ketchup!  Jake's 1st day was a success! He really liked that his backpack matched his new tennis shoes!  One of Jake and my favorite days together is Wednesdays. Jake LOVES story time at the library!! Most Wednesday mornings we are packed into this room and ready for Ms. Debbie to read fun stories and sing silly songs!  Jake especially loves big kid time when he gets to go with all the kids his age and do fun projects.  This day they made rainbows! Last weekend, the Gunderson guys had an incredible weekend enjoying all the things guys do when mommy leaves town! And now that no Gboys are wearing diapers, guy time was brought to a new level...  Friday afternoon the boys picked up all the supplies needed to make a "potato shooter"- a What?!?! Yep, a potato shooter. This thing is serious and shoots potatoes incredibly far!! Makes quite a BOOM too so you'd want to cover your ears if any of the Gboys try to show you their experiment. And I was told that hair spray is the best spray to shoot those potatoes the farthest~boyz  On Saturday, these guys raced around town doing as many sports as humanly possible. I can tell by these smiles they had an outstanding weekend!! Always a great day when starting out with powdered donuts and juice!  Saturday morning soccer for Caleb! It's been a crazy busy start to our fall season, but so far we are in full swing and the boys are loving it! Take a peak at all our smiles!  Jake has ventured to preschool this school year, and this week finally started going for the full time-9-11:15am, Tuesdays and Thursdays. His favorite things so far are playing outside with his friends and playing trucks. I think it sounds like SUCCESS! Our bubba man is just starting to feel the effects of going to school, playing soccer, starting up piano lessons and heading to Awana on Wednesday nights. This boy crashes after mommy and daddy kisses at night. Miss his smile during the school day... These 2boys keep us on our toes. They are NEVER TIRED (of course), and are pretty sure they go to bed way too early! At 8p on school nights, these 2 come up with ANYTHING to stay up a little bit longer-thirsty, saw a spider, have sore toes, too hot, need a hug...and the list goes on. Kyle and I are usually the most exhausted at the end ...

Its the first week back to school and that means this momma is back to running before the sun rises! Going to take me a few weeks to adjust to super early running again! In the dark I go!! I took a pic of my first morning out! Very rainy day for the 1st day of school! Thankful for all my school boys and so proud of them! Thankful also for their teachers this year!! What a great summer with these 4!!! As I was looking back at all the fun things we did together, I found myself pretty teary because this time with them has been so special. Kyle and I feel blessed to have 4 boys who are an absolute blast to hang out with. And it is so fun for us to watch these boys grow in relationship with each other. Their personalities really compliment each other.
